It’s. Violation of the PIPEDA act. Inter provincial carriers fall under federal privacy laws. I took it to the federal labour board.

I left the company. I ran a quick test actually. I covered the camera while I was driving and 2 hours later I got a call from them telling me to uncover my camera. No event triggered anything so I don't know how they knew it was covered.

I get that a lot from older drivers. I'm going to try food delivery and flatbed next. If I don't like either one than I'll probably leave the industry for good.

Oh I love those driver facing camera's, all up my truck has three cameras one forward facing, one facing me, and one facing down the passenger side. Over the last 3 years I've gotten used to them and they don't bother me no more, but used to annoy me a lot when I first drove, you'd know when they were recording as a little green or red light would come on just under the camera, I'd put on all kinds of smiley faces for it to break the boredom, I often wonder how the folks watching the film would react, I'd wave at the camera then jump out of the truck if it was still filming when I parked up, just to give them a little something to think about.

That's the very purpose of a driver facing camera, otherwise it has no purpose.
The second thing is, The company has to form a committee to handle the info
Thirdly , has to be approved by, in this case, the driver.
    Read the link.
