CPM + MPH = $

I’m not going to blast the OP. I somewhat agree.
If you’re not making $80k today, you should be. And, you shouldn’t have to work 70 hours a week to get it.

 

You sound young, inexperienced and unwise. You realize that the max speed for trucks is 55 mph in all of Mexico’s Gay District? There are 100’s of coast to coast loads every day bringing in the tattoo ink, leather pants, KY jelly, body piercings and inflatable sheep VITAL to their way of life. You’re telling us you turn down these loads just because you can’t drive 70mph?

It can take 20 minutes or 4 hours to drive through Portland, OR (LA, Sacramento and Seattle are WORSE). On your CPM plan even at 100 cpm, which you’re NOT making, you’d still only get $20 for that 4 hours of driving. On my $30/hr plan I make $120 for that trip, but it’s a, “waste of time” because my truck is locked at 67 mph?

 

The goal is to work less for more $$$$

 

Well I guess I’m absolutely screwed!! I usually do less than 2000 miles a week and I don’t get cpm I get dpm plus I usually work about 50 hours a week. I guess the down fall is I have to load and unload my own freight which I get paid for and the worst of all is my company pays for all my benefits. And it really sucks that I’m home for 2 days on the weekend! What should I do?!

 

And what about all those % of load drivers. Making over 150k. They must really hate it. They're doing it all wrong.

 

All of those use automatic transmissions.

Yep 2k is a big week for me. Usually around 1500-1700 but the downfall is mostly jersey Lol so it feels like a 3000 mi week

 

What kind of physical activity do you normally engage in where you'd call shifting gears "exercise"?

I'm fine with a 10-speed. My thumb gets plenty of exercise counting money.

 

I keep my thumb on the pulse of the nation.
