I typically have several hundred dollars worth by the end of the year. I've gotten a drive cam, the big red copper cook set, and typically spend the rest on Christmas presents and giant candy bars for the kids and the females of the species.

I try my best to only fuel at love's. Better points system, generally cleaner showers and (usually) friendlier staff.

I can’t stand TA due to their UltraOne program. Loves allows you to do anything and everything through the app. I fueled at the TA in Barstow a few weeks ago so I could get a shower. It wouldn’t take my ultra one card or my phone number despite it working a few months back. The store manager did grant me a shower pass but I’m not even going to fool with the card again.

I never have issues at 80% of Loves and their rewards program is to easy to not take advantage of. The other 20% are the old stores with limited parking and generally just a PIA to get in and out of.

The new TA rewards program is less generous than the old one of a couple years ago. They got stingier with their showers, making them expire sooner. I used to always have several showers available but with the new program there was a couple times when I had zero. Net result, I fuel there less often. I used to factor the price of a shower when comparing fuel prices, but now I no longer do, so TA wins less often. Probably the exact opposite of their intended effect, but a corporation can't see stuff like that because it doesn't show up as a line item on their financial statements. But some of that food they cook up in those cafeteria counters sure does look tempting though. That's where most of my TA points go.

There were many times that a particular chain like Loves didn't have a stop near where I needed to be. And when I had my own truck, with the discounts I got, Loves was never the cheapest fuel.

Never cared for TA/Petro. Facilities are dirty and out of date, parking lots are full of pot holes, and the employees are usually some crusty old tweaker not interested in helping you.

They no longer (since my last fueling there) award a shower to those without a U1 card. Between their restaurants, their parking lots and new shower program, I count 3 strikes....

Pretty much sums up my experience. The manager of the Mt. Vernon TA (missing 3/4 of her teeth) argued with me one night about what she herself told me minutes before. Two of us needed two reserved spots each for our loads. On the phone she said it would be $20 oversize loads can get two spots for the price of one as a courtesy. Went in to pay when we got there and she said “if you guys are hauling airplane wings you can afford to buy two spots, $40”. Well she had us by the short and curlies because the sun was going down and there was no other options in the area. We never parked there again. Out of the three major chains TA’s are the most consistently dirty, poorly maintained, and out dated locations. The only thing they had going for them was big parking lots, and the loves are really starting to catch up in that department.

No use being upset man. Chalk it to the game. You'll fuel enough to get those points in a couple of years. Just dont give up.

Had saved up over 25000 points. Platinum membership since God talked to Moses. All of a sudden, they changed the showers, parking and restaurants. Today, I will go out of my way to avoid a TA. Told a manager that if the choice is between eating at Denny’s or IHOP, Denny’s will win.

“But Six, IHOP has more brand recognition than Country Pride.”

    Only to crackheads.
