“Go to college” was the answer to everything no one ever told us a surplus of degrees makes them as useful as toilet paper. That and the overwhelming debt some people end up with.
The housing market was ####ed before we could even vote and it’s only got worse.
Starting to get where we don’t give af about having shiny new things we just wanna live and go home to our families and have a healthy planet.
Or conversely we have the 20year old “doomers” as mr.white would say “#### it I don’t care take it down, hit something hard I don’t wanna limp away from this son of a #####”
also I just wanna point out, workforce productivity is going UP (higher then it ever has been) and wages are DOWN.
What’s the point of working like a slave if the company just profits the extra fruit of labor and nothing makes it way down to the little guy.
(That’s not to say there isn’t the good for nothing layabouts that can’t even do simple tasks, but they have always been here)Speed_Drums and skallagrime Thank this. -

There’s plenty of “ok” playing jobs.
I’m not denying the fact there’s more people fine with living off someone else, the leeches will never change.
I’m not advocating for them, I’m advocating for the rest of us walking around in a soulless society just trying to scrape by till a better opportunity comes up, trying to play chess with our lives so maybe our kids won’t have to work like we do. Or just not having kids at all and living like a hedonist
I’ve worked since age 17 as a kid I was always working on the farm. Cattle hogs veggies etc, always cutting firewood for every winter. 17 I started work in forestry for a large contractor. Often times working at a grocery store full time as well.
I’m not “lazy” but only because I’ve never been able to be, but I understand why others don’t wanna play the same game I am.Speed_Drums, bzinger and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
You misunderstand basic economic theory, "productivity" is dollars in to dollars out, so holding production and sales constant but lowering wages or even holding them below inflation is "productive" -
The Productivity–Pay Gap
Also the bureau of labor has published some information as well. It looks specifically LABOR productivity
however I won’t lie I do a lot of skim reading of economic articles, I’m guilty of a bias and have always felt disillusioned about the current state of things.
