So this dude just parked his 53 flatbed nose in, like right in the middle of the lot.

His trailer is sticking out about 8 feet past the Cascadia next to him.

It's a single row with a flower bed in front of it, that you know is going to have a line of trucks up against it.

I wonder what the plan is for egress???

Who's fault is it when someone plows into his trailer at 0100???

Some folks dont think about egress until its time to execute said maneuver.... Some folks never learn.

I went to one of those kind of places pulling the dreaded dry box. Call the lady on the phone, give her yer load number, she tells you which dock to hit. Red light comes on, stay in yer truck. When they're done, you get a green light and pull off. No human contact attempted or permitted.

So, pulled off. Climbed in to check if they'd strapped things down good and given me enough pallets , and no electric pallet jack present.

Poked my head in the open door, and the dock guy said he was just trying to pick up an extra $500 this week. Big grin. Extra 15 minutes. I don't do the dreaded dry box very often cuz I don't need the aggravation.

And nobody out on the road ever waves back at me when I'm pulling a dry box.

This country was built on the dry box.

Lowe’s DC’s can be difficult sometimes.
For flatbed, this is the program.

First You will check in with guard shack one hour before your appointment time.
(that is actually the unload time)

Bring all your paperwork and DL. Also truck and trailer number.( some ask for license plates) good idea to have Hi-Vis vest on.

Paperwork to who ever is at window. They fill some stuff out do some stamps, then have you sign the check-in. They will give you a number, like 137. Also will tell you if drop or stay hooked. That is your waiting parking spot. This is when you pull tarps and straps.

A person on a forklift will come and check with you to make sure they are unloading the right trailer, if yes, then follow them to the dock or ramp they will use to unload.

Wait in truck for them to finish, go back to guard shack and get your signed bills. They may escort you, if not, follow the markings. They get a bit testy about that.
