These Swamp Donkies are about as snug on Black Ice as a Peterbilt or Freightshaker. All I'm sayin.
What if it Snows?

@Opus Your package arrived earlier thus week while I was on the road. Today I started work on assembly... Or tried. I got the skull cut away from the antler, and decided what angle to mount the antler, and did some filing on it to help it sit better in position.
Then came the learning experience... Antler is incredibly hard. I drilled a hole and attempted to thread in the brass insert... No go. So I slowly increased the size of the hole 1/64 of an inch at a time. This still resulted in failure. The brass insert just isnt strong enough to thread into the antler more than 1 turn.
So... My plan now is to drill and tap threads in the antler itself for the bolts to thread directly into. This will probably require the use of another antler, as the first has a hole that is way to big in it. Another antler is not a problem I have a few deer heads laying around that I can rob one from. But i do need to go buy a tap... The one I need is the one that I broke some time ago. So thats where it is at thus point... Oh and I also need to go borrow a drill bit large enough to drill the hole for the thermometer, but again... Not a problem.
I'm super excited to get it all assembled and use it... But its going to have to wait a little while... The wife says we have more important things to buy right now than tools... Such are the wohs of a married man... Lol.
Many, many thanks, again, for buying and sending me the parts. I cant tell you how much I appreciate the gesture. Hopefully I will have it ready to use in a few weeks... I will post pics then.homeskillet, InTooDeep, dwells40 and 11 others Thank this. -
One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week. The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a police comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill. The barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week.' The police were happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thankyou' card and a dozen doughnuts waiting for him at his door.
Then a Member of Congress came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Member of Congress was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Members of Congress lined up waiting for a free hair cut.
And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.homeskillet, InTooDeep, dwells40 and 16 others Thank this. -
