Just like the title says, I have a leaky fuel line. I 'think' it's supply side because it's not leaking really bad. I've a pretty good idea where the leak is, but can I splice it or put a new end on without removing the entire line from the truck?

Easy enough to put a splice in the line but you'd be well advised to just replace the entire line.

It's in the steel braided rubber line.

I have enough 'extra' and the leak is close to the fitting. It's not possible to just put a new fitting on?

What truck and engine? You can splice those like Final Drive has on his N14, and many other steel lines with a compression union.

Steel braided? Is it an ISX?

Gotcha, don't think it's a the same line I was thinking of though. You say steel braided, is it a line to the tank? Possibly stratoflex

Yes, one of the two from the tank. I have about 4' of slack and the hole is in the first 1.5'.

It is likely sucking air when it is running which causes all kinds of screwy problems. Some that affect performance but won't set a code. If it is Stratoflex with crimped on fittings you can go to KW parts counter and tell them which hose it is and they can sell you the appropriate reusable fitting but if the hose is leaking there is a very good chance it is coming apart internally as well and you will likely keep having issues. Just buy 2 fittings a piece of hose the right size and length and replace it. Then as time and funds allow replace the rest of them. I just got through replacing all the lines on my KW ISX 2014. It is something you can save yourself some big bucks by doing it yourself. Because it is a very dirty, labor intensive job. If you don't change them and have to take it to a shop over driveability issues most shops will skip right over that part of the troubleshooting and throw other parts at it because it is not a mechanics favorite job.
