I have also met several drivers who own "500 acres of ranchland/200 rental properties/ a tavern and tourist motel in (insert state here)". They just drive a truck to stay busy........

I don't like ############, and I don't like people who are so afraid of silence, they can't keep their mouth shut.......

Well, it was a 50' coil, so give the guy some credit.

He even figured out how to secure a coil by spraying water underneath it so it would freeze itself to the deck, that man was a genius.

Another type that always made me laugh is the "Rambo" persona! By Rambo I mean they bully cops, their bosses, and almost everybody else. You know them when you hear this opening statement "I won't put up with that crap ----" then go on to regale anybody stupid enough to believe them with their tales of making traffic clerks cry etc. I could go on but I think most of you have met this type of person!

You telling us that you never drug your trailer across the hood of a car with the blessings of a nyc cop... I don’t believe it.

that actually did happen to me in south Philly- well sort of, but not really. Lol. I was right near temple university and stuck- totally blocking traffic. Getting yelled at left and right. I see a cop and ask him for help- his response was “what do you want me to do? It’s a big city the owners of those cars could be anywhere- I’m just gonna say this, that car is parked legally, that one is illegally parked” then he told me I had to find a way to get moving because I was blocking his city.

long story short, he didn’t come out and say drag my trailer over the car, but he sort of implied if I had to tap or lightly bump one to get traffic moving again it was in my best interests to tap the illegally parked one. It’s the city, he preferred a little scraped paint to a major traffic traffic jam I guess.

in the end I managed to wiggle my way out with the help of some pretty creative city folks without hitting anything. But that was a mess I’ll never forget

One cold wintery day after making a delivery at a truck assembly plant in Chillicothe Ohio I slipped sideways a bit and wedged a highway sign between my tractor and trailer that was right up on my battery box. One of those once in a million situations that can happen. My fault 100%! An Ohio State Trooper came up behind me and looked at my situation and laughed a bit. I was in the way and traffic was backing up a bit behind me so he said break it off and go on. I said I can't because I would damage my battery box and/or the back of the tractor and fairings. It took a bit, but a DOT truck came by and they took the bolts out of the break-a-way and took the sign down. I asked the trooper if I was getting cited? He said no, but be careful next time. I took a photo of that situation and when I find it I will post it.
