Starting Schneider National Dedicated Flex Fleet

No PC at Schneider

 

I'm bobtail right now and I still can't PC. Lol. I just try to get everything done within my 70, never had any problems.

 

I actually have this at home but haven't been home to pick it up and put it in the truck yet. Been trying to find another one out here on the road but stores that carry the one I want/need are few and far in between. Trying to get ahold of a Ninebot ES4 or E45 but haven't found one yet, they're both a little bit smaller and more portable than the Ninebot MAX I already have. Thinking about getting an E45 shipped to my dad's in Milwaukee when I take time off next month.

 

So I was supposed to sit this morning and have my extended reset, but I ended up getting a nice side quest. Master Halco DBL asked me if I wanted to drive a rental car to the Indy OC to pick up a truck to bring back to Minnesota for another driver. I happily obliged. Parked my truck, packed a night bag with sleeping bag and pillow, and set out for the Indy OC.

Stopped in Milwaukee about halfway there for an hour break. Got to eat some fried cheese curds with my Dad and Grandmother. Haven't seen them in almost 2 years so that was pretty awesome. Also got a bag of squeaky cheese to being with me.

Just got to the Indy OC a couple hours ago and hunted down the truck they wanted me to pick up. Had to get a new key cut and make sure I could get the truck to start before I dropped off the rental car, just in case I ended up needing a hotel. Didn't know if I was going to be able to air condition the truck.

The truck is a p4 with 200k miles, prolly a 2019 or 2020. The truck didn't have enough voltage to turn the starter. I realized the truck had an APU though, so I used the APU to charge the battery enough to turn the starter. Started right up. Everything seemed the be in order and the APU works surprisingly well, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss my own truck, lol.

I was thinking Gary was the only OC in Indiana. For some reason I thought the Indy location was just a fancy drop lot, but it turns out it's a fully featured OC with showers and everything. I've never been here before so this was a pleasant surprise. Something about the ambiance of an OC makes me feel like I'm at a safe place surrounded by family or something lmao.

Just dropped off my rental car and am currently writing this while riding an Uber back to the OC. Can't wait to finally go off duty and get some sleep.

Tomorrow I might pick up a backhaul to bring with me to Minneapolis so this trip will be extra productive. I think if they want me back in MPLS with enough time to take a Master Halco load on Wednesday morning, a backhaul wouldn't be wise though. I would likely end up using all 11 of my drive hours before I could drop a trailer as well as transfer all of my stuff from truck to truck, and then drop the truck off with its new driver. I may not even be able to get all of that done tomorrow bobtail, but we shall see.
