Hello Everyone:
As of most recently, I'd just started CDL school at the local community college, whereas the initial topics to be brought up by the instructors were potential income and employers. Within that topics, one of my instructor mentioned UPS, indicating that instead of waiting 5 years of being on-call before driving a tractor-trailer, they are now putting newly graduated CDL drivers directly into the driver's seat. He further stressed that the driver shortage was in fact so bad, that UPS desperately wants drivers and that their union is no longer making anyone wait anymore. He then added that the pay is still $38/hour, plus benefits.
If that being true and all, it was to my understanding that UPS Freight was recently bought out by TFI International and that's where I need some clarity. So in simpler terms, what is in fact actually happening at UPS right now in terms of pay scale, 401K, medical benefits and hourly wage?
Is UPS still the premier outfit under the TFI International takeover, or are they now skimping on their drivers?
Is UPS Still $38/Hr.
