Seniority always prevails at UPS. Probably won’t run mileage for a while as a bid run unless you hire in on sleepers. Depends on the location but most places other than Chicago you will hire in usually running the on call board. You will likely see your share of mileage jobs as you generally do something different every day unless you are covering a bid job. Some locations such as Chicago have been hiring so many drivers that they are hired in at near top pay day one and some come in as a full time team driver day one. Brown truck/single driver mileage runs as a bid usually go very high on the board unless you take a Thursday to Monday bid which I had with only a couple years on the job. Location at UPS changes everything I just told you as it could be starting at barely $20 an hour to $30 something depending on what location and how bad they need drivers.

It is not a one size fits all approach at UPS. Package and Feeders make the same money except when a Feeder pulls doubles/Triples or a Package Car Driver pulls a trailer. Nearly every location in the country has different work rules and often starting pay. Due to needing hundreds of drivers at many locations they are bringing them in at $30something an hour to get qualified people to apply. Some locations still do the BS 3-5 year progression rate starting at nearly poverty wages compared to full pay.

Every terminal is different. I did a lot of mileage runs when I was new because it was so much cheaper to send them with me.

Sure, starting pay is lower. Depends on the location, too. Some places start at $21.50, some at $30. Depends on how badly they need drivers.

Well, some terminals have multiple lists for city versus linehaul. So it's possible for multiple lists to exist still.
