You pay half your income in taxes at every job.
Most people can’t do basic math.
If they could , congressmen would
Be riding around in armored cars and wouldn’t dare show up in public at a town hall meeting .
If you earn between $45-80k you’re federal income tax rate is 22%
then there’s the 13% social security tax. Which in a brilliant move, Congress makes your employer “contribute “ 6.3% of before you ever see it, so you never know you are paying that 6%
then there’s the 3% Medicare tax and in my state there is a 2% unemployment insurance tax, and a 6% state income tax.
22+13+ 3 is 38%
Plus whatever your state grabs, and if they don’t have a state income tax they get it on property tax.
My state grabs 6% income tax , plus another 7% sales tax when you spend it .
38+6+7 is 51%
And that doesn’t include all the hidden taxes on your utility bills and excise taxes on tires and stuff like that.
the government is easily stealing more than half of the income of people like me at the point of a gun,
( try not paying your taxes, government employees with guns will come and lock you in a cage)
who are stupid enough to still work for a living just to see that hard earned money paid out to people who stay home and relax and cash those welfare checks.
