Probably start busing people to Texas like happened during Katrina.
Should fly plane loads of them to California and Portland, Oregon from Naval Air Station, New Orleans.

According to the media the next hurricane is always going to be the worst one ever......

Stats are nothing compared to Katrina, but they're saying the slight direction difference "could" hit New Orleans with more water. Seems to be much ado about nothing.

But hey, whatever takes Afghanistan out of the spotlight.

Portland, Oregon Mayor Wheeler told citizens to prepare in case Hurricane Ida changes direction and goes through the Panama Canal and then up the coast and hits Portland.

Weather nerd here. Primary concerns are as follows:

1: Ida will track over the hottest/most energetic part of the ocean just before landfall. That (heat) will pump energy into the storm.

2: With a slight E zag, it now looks like an eyewall (where the most destructive winds are) will hit New Orleans. Big problems for the power grid. Big.

3: Levees have been upgraded; but (referencing above power issues) the pumps are the failure point, and one that is a continuing issue to this day.

Im not predicting anything, but the pieces are there to legitimize some of the reporting.

I don't understand why people buy milk during hurricanes and tornados; they won't have electricity to keep it from spoiling.
They should buy drinking water, bottles of wine and beer.
