Was the slow truck cheating on HOS limping from place to place without triggering to DRIVE?

People need to be aware of their surroundings. No reason you can't see a Big Truck.

Unless he didn’t have his 4 ways on, it’s the other guys fault.
Plenty of reasons for a truck to be rolling slow, specially with hazmat and train tracks.Bud A. Thanks this. -
Driver could have been out of hours and couldnt park it. Anyways bad scene. At least DOT got them parked now.

Well, it's not right to rip on the dead,,,,but nice goin' yutz. You shouldn't run into anything, even if it's stopped. If it's any consolation, it's one less truck for the approaching "rear ender" pileup season coming up.

This is a lot like the dumazzes that put their signal on from the shoulder and do a left turn into the lane, not running the shoulder at all. I’ve had a couple close ones because of this.

They had a call about the slow moving truck before the accident happened, so it is unlikely that the slow truck had just pulled onto the road. Maybe derated and trying to get to a shop, as there are some truck dealers/shops right around there.
Did the slow truck have his flashers on and would it have made any difference anyway? It was @ 10am on dry roads. Slow or not he should not have been hard to see. Sad to see this kind of thing happen though.buddyd157, Bud A., lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this. -
