I’m really curious what’s gonna happen with food service because it seems like nobody wants to do it.

Diesel Dave and bzinger Thank this.

That must be a regional thing. I never once had to work a Saturday. Even if I wanted to, there were so few routes available that they were all taken by more senior drivers.

They have ads all over indeed for the Sioux Falls area at the moment. 27 and change per hour for shuttle drivers. Not enough to make me leave my current gig, but if it was daylight hours, that might make me change my mind.

What's wrong with that? The world don't stop because its Saturday. I mean, I get people want weekends off for reasons unbeknownst to me, but in this day and age I don't really see much difference between working a weekend or any other day. The country don't really shut down at all anymore.

Maybe because it’s one of two days where their kids are home from school? Maybe their spouse is off on weekends? No reason to sacrifice a day with the family when there’s other jobs that don’t require it.

i talked the us foods guy at Knotts berry farm and the dude was breaking down a load to 14 pallets and he said they cant keep guys because the work load is to heavy and customers are too picky he did say make 2k a week take home but i could never, two 14 hour days and a 16 hour day . plus they burn that 70 hour clock...and why would you do us foods or sysco when you can bump dock for "food4less/Ralphs" for 30 bucks an hour with over time after 8 or work "martin bower/Mc Donald's" all lift gate door way pallet. no sort and seg or inside delivery . just wait for THEM to count and sign for 28 an hour. LOS ANGELES

this driver from us foods had on double knee brace and double elbow brace look like the terminator lol

Lol is this actually a question? Lol

    This.

Weekends don't really mean anything to me right now at this point in my life so I can see where bryan21384 is coming from, but it's pretty obvious why 99% of people with a local job would want the weekend off if they could get the same pay working M-F somewhere else. Even if you don't have kids most of your friends are going to be off and doing stuff on the weekend because they work M-F. Not hard to see why somebody would want to be a part of that instead of bumping docks and unloading trucks while the rest of your friends and family are out enjoying life together.

    Trucker61016 and jmz Thank this.
