    So I'm now convinced...

If there is a Hell, then all the truck drivers there drive auto-shift Cascadias... Cascadia Hell is real!

The one I'm driving is alot like riding an old plow horse... It will get up to speed... But it doesnt matter how much you spur it, its going to take its own sweet #### time getting there. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I dont mind Volvo I-shift with the premium shifter package... Thats what my usual truck has, but this Cascadia is horrible....

Ever try to run in ankle deep mud? You feel like you are really pooring the coal to the fire, but not really getting anywhere? Yeah, that's what thus Cascadia feels like. I can feel the power of the engine, but I'm not quite sure what its using all that power for.

Different trucks have different load planning criteria for acceptance.

I try to stay in a short haul exemption area. So mostly I am in traffic with a 60 MPH speed limit, on occasion 65 when I air it out and brake out the paper logs. I'm not a good team player (even Dave agrees) so now I just laugh at anybody silly enough to give me a "load plan" that can't be done legally with out stress. The different performance levels is irrelevant for me. My preference for auto-shift is more of a comfort thing

I used to take stress type loads, but there had to be extra money enough to cover the extra stress and extra fuel consumed.

That makes sense. And part of my complaint about this truck is a comfort thing. It is very uncomfortable physically IMO. As well as the fact that I'm uncomfortable with taking nearly 2 miles to get up to speed on the interstate on level ground while grossing about 75k. Even empty it is very sluggish.

In my Volvo I can pin the throttle in any gear while empty and get instantaneous giddy-up-n-go. But this Cascadia WILL NOT do that above 4th or 5th gear, and even in the low gears its not as "punchy" as the Volvo. If your not careful you can nearly lift the left steer off the ground in gears 1 thru 4 with the Volvo... Loaded or empty.

Its not that I want to drive like a stock car racer... But I would like to have the throttle response when I need it.

Wonder how much of that is caused by a "fuel efficient" ecm/trans programing. There is a big disconnect between the corporate overlords (accountants and engineers) and our real world experiences and requirements.

Extra Stupid is definitely out here this week. Soon as I got to Ga. The Trucks started racing. Cutting each other off boxing in, darting out, making sudden lane changes. Unnecessary Close calls.Sometimes it’s best to slow down, let them go, get a different bunch of Trucks to run with. A/C is ice cold. So is fridge. Just drank my last Powerade, it was frozen, thanks LTD. Fuel economy on 800 miles was 5.9, that’s encouraging. Only 4 hrs idle time. 36k in the box.
