The bobtail didn't fuel your truck before you left the location?

    Brettj3876 Thanks this.

No no no Lol. I was headed out to the rig about 160mi away from the yard with some cement. Was planning on getting fuel about 15 miles away from the rig. Just didn't make it that far

    Oh ok, that makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is why they would only have a single 100g tank on a truck that doesn't sit on location for the duration of the job.

    Brettj3876 Thanks this.

All of big blues trucks only had a 100g fuel tank with a 50g hyd tank on the other side to run the compressors. (They had compressors instead of blowers to blow off the cement)

    RockinChair Thanks this.

3.8mpg fleet avg from idling all the time. On the frac side it must of kept the fuel guy busy 24/7 Lol.

Man that elevated by heart rate just watching the video! Good job getting out of the way. That was one hell of a major accident avoided.

I had a delivery at a Tyson plant in Kansas on Thanksgiving...right after an ice storm. Dispatch told me to go ahead and drive in...they would be in the office, trust us!
I was walking in and slipped and fell despite my best efforts. I landed flat on my back and it knocked the wind out of me. I layed there for a minute, staring at the sky and thinking about my life.

After I finally got up and made it into the building, there was no one there.

I spent 42 hours stuck waiting to be “loaded” on a chicken plant in NC two years or so ago… . Over Thanksgiving weekend…I was a new driver, Dispatcher knew they weren’t going to load me till after the holiday weekend and had me go there and just sit anyhow. I did get one day of detention pay, big whoop. There was nothing around, nowhere to go eat and not anything open. I had no food on the truck and was getting angrier by the minute sitting there. I called the fill in dispatch assigned over the closed weekend and asked if I could go on personal conveyance and drive to the one convenience store that was 2 miles down the road to get food. The woman covering told me to call back Monday morning when regular staff was in an ask for permission. Lol. I drop the trailer right where I sat and drove down to the store and got me some food. About the time I was coming back out my phone is ringing and she’s asking me why I move the truck without permission. I said when I called on Monday morning one of two things will happen, I quit or they fired me and I don’t care I’m a human being it’s Thanksgiving weekend so I got some food to eat.
Almost abandoned the truck right then and there. It was over that weekend that I realized trucking companies truly don’t honestly care for the drivers. They were all at home with their families stuffing their fat faces with turkey and gravy I didn’t care that they left me stranded at the chicken plant in the middle of nowhere. Not a care in the world. It was that weekend I learned to standup for myself in this industry. Lol
As for being in trouble, nobody dared say anything to me. Not a word. Big deal I drove the truck 4 miles round-trip to get something to eat. I was waiting, or anyone to dare say something to me.

Yeah that's the pits....I found out that if you ask dispatch if you can pu or deliver early, they will always say yes without researching lol.

I could never work for a place that throws a fit over a little personal conveyance. Using PC to go to a nearby store/mall//movies has helped me keep my sanity. I vowed never to be one of the sad looking dudes staring out his windshield at the truck stop all day.
