    Looking for some advice.

Been driving and delivering beer for 3 years now. The schedule is Tuesday-Friday, start at 4 AM and typically done by 12-1 PM. I usually stay under 40 hours a week. Salary is $52,000 a year flat, no overtime or anything, once the route is done, that’s it.

Recently had an offer from a fuel hauling company with a schedule of every other weekend off and 2 PM to 2 AM. They’re putting another truck near my house which would give me day shift of 2 AM to 2PM. 5 12 hour days a week. Said first year I should be between $65,000 and $70,000 and then it would go up to around $80,000 to $90,000 depending on how well I was doing along with raises.

I’m currently 26 and have a fiancé, we’re not struggling for money, but I would like more. However, I also enjoy my home time and just being with her and our dogs in general. I’m not sure if I want to jump ship or not. I originally obtained my CDL to go into fuel hauling, but landed the beer delivery shortly after school and have, and still do, enjoy it. It’s not a bad job at all and the company is great. The fuel company is, from what I’ve heard and read, a very well loved company and the benefits are better than what I have now.

In your guys and girls experience was the money worth the home time swap? Would you trade a great schedule for a longer day and extra day with more money? I really appreciate any and all advice or life experiences.

No one else's experiences can guide you.
Not sure why people even ask these kinds of questions.

Use your own mind to make your own decisions.

Fuel hauling is worth at least $100K/yr. Even without experience. With experience. It's worth double what you're offered.

I get that no one can make my mind for me, but it’s still nice to see what others have experienced and what they would have done different. It’s kind of the point of a forum to learn and understand things from other view points. Not trying to be rude in this response, but just explaining why I asked.

It’s one of the higher paying outfits here surprisingly. I also live in southwest VA and the cost of living really isn’t high. But I definitely agree they should all pay more. Dangerous job and I respect the people that do it.

I'm going to go against the grain here. You're on a 4 day workweek, right at 40 hours per week, grossing 52k per year in a low cost of living area (southwest VA) and you're off by the early afternoon. With weekends off.

If you can afford it, I would just stay where you are at. You have a life. You don't have to live out of a truck. You are working a white collared office job type of schedule. You actually get to see your fiancé. If you have kids one day, then you will actually be able to see your kids, know your kids and watch them grow up. You won't be an ATM, you will be an actual person to your family.

12 hour days, year round, absolutely suck. I know I'll probably get a lot of crap for that comment calling me lazy or whatever, but it's the truth. OP go be with your beautiful fiancé and if you two ever have kids, be around your children and actually be there to watch them grow up. Life is so much more than just money, I would honestly keep your 40 hour a week, 4 day work week and 52k per year job. Cut back on other unnecessary expenses if you feel that you need more money.
