I feel guilty about the noise, but oh well.

Second week pulling reefer. On a -20 continuous load near Tucson, Arizona tonight. APU and reefer are both waking the dead in the 95 degree heat and the last spot at Love’s was between two dry vans with EPU’s. I sure hope they’re heavy sleepers or at least like the white noise.

I kind of like the hum of the reefer behind the cab, but I do hate knowing I’m disturbing the peace at every truck stop these next couple days.

It sucks but it’s part of the biz. We all always get over it. Your air dryer isn’t spitting off every 15 seconds is it?

She stays quiet. No squeaking belts either, but the truck a couple spots down has a rattling Carrier reefer and a squeaking belt while idling, so we’re just tag teaming the back row with white noise lol

Remember when Thermo King come out with the Whisper Edition. Nobody could believe how quite it was. Today people still think reefers are to loud. Maybe when we have the electric Tesla truck they will make an electric reefer

Been there done that. Just how it is sometimes. As a reefer jockey, I do try and park by other reefers and avoid parking next to dry vans, car haulers and flat beds. But, you can't always.
Personally, I'll take a running reefer over an old clanky long nose anyday. Only time I've ever moved in a parking lot because of noise. Had an old clanky long nose beside me, geesh it was loud and annoying!!!

Jesus. The reefer is the least of our problems!!

Seriously though, people knew what this business entailed. It's a noisy business.

Eh reefer noise doesnt bother me. I just turn on my fan when one backs in next to my rig and it drowns it out most of the time. Then again i slept through my team driver driving our truck into a ditch once so......

Parked between two APUs. Let’er fire on high and defrost away. If it’s a Carrier, all the better. He says while parked at a quiet TS with nobody nearby even idling. About to start it up to precool.

Yep, that's where we are today, someone complaining about the noise at a truckstop. They also buy property near an airport too or rebuild in hurricane prone areas. It's admirable you think like that, but a trucker has to leave their conscience at home sometimes, or you won't make a dime. Besides, those old TK's made a racket John Force would be proud of. We've come a long ways in reefers.
