Someone may know this and offer a suggestion better than the one I have been told. Trailer lights. The ones in the back specifically. Usually when I go to change out one, simply take my flat screwdriver pop out bad light, hook up new one and pop it back in. A few of our trailers though don't have the 4 inch rubber grommets. You have the light and a "chrome" ring around the socket that is riveted to trailer. The suggestion given to me was you have to drill out the rivets then either get the grommets or self tapping screws to put the ring back on. Is there a simpler way that doesn't involve drilling out the rivets?

No. Drilling out the rivets is simple. You can replace them with a normal light and grommet

Gotcha. That seems like a waste of money though unless it's just as cheap as what grommets would cost.

When LED's first came out people would steal them, so they got riveted in.

Ok NOW it makes sense. Heck I don't know if it's pandemic related or not, but I noticed the regular 4 inch lights are almost as pricey as the led ones it seems.

You are at the wrong store. I still get them for $5.

I remember getting them for around 5(single bulb simple connection) the other day I saw same bulbs next to led for almost 15 bucks. Unless someone had taken it down and not put it back on the appropriate hook
