Thanks guys. You are setting my mind at ease. I'm confident I can land a decent job out there and hopefully make it work as an owner operator later down the road. What good is moving to a nice place if you cant make any money?

Ah yes, my last concern. Politics. Crime, drugs and homelessness on the rise. Lefties answer is to hand out free needles. Yuck. Texas wins this category.

Las Vegas' Needle Exchange Vending Machines Are A First In The U.S.

I always viewed Nevada as a weird Libertarian kind of place which is fine by me. But I worry they are moving further left with the influx of new residents. I digress.

Plenty of work there just not the highest paying region.
Try a unionized freight outfit for national wages or maybe a SLC or L.A. carrier that can let you run 4 or 5 days a week between them if you do not want OTR work and want to be home weekends.
We've pondered retiring there and I've been looking at the job market there since before the pandemic.

Cadence is Henderson, NV's newest masterplanned community. When you live at Cadence, you join a community of convenience. Schools, shops and restaurant are right around the corner.

Does Walmart have a DC anywhere in the southern Nevada area ???
What Walmart DC's feed southern Nevada ? I know there's one outside of Reno but Las Vegas is much closer to Southern California. I bet you could get a Walmart driving job living in South Nevada , Walmart seems to be hurting for drivers.

I never had issues finding loads out to LA and then doing east coast run and back. It’s not the best paying freight but you’ll get out in a dry van. Even Power Only you’ll find a trailer that pays enough for diesel to head to LA for a load.
