Right now I am paying $30 a month for unlimited talk and text with 5GB of data from Verizon pre-paid! In about 6 months that will drop to $25. For my purposes that is not a good deal! But I am also a crotchety old grouch! Last month I used about 60 MB of cellular data.

The when you pair it with a new line bit says to me it's not. If it said here is a free phone for being our loyal customer and you were going to continue to use their service anyway then yes. Jmo

Verizon treats long time customers like crap.

All providers, be it phone cable or just about anything else, treat long time customers like crap.
Then they wonder why someone bounces between companies and there is no loyalty anywhere....
