You know, I'm with you on this one. The driver needs to work on the tidy up the extra strap. We have the right straps for that or even a few three inchers. Chain would be ok but as a shipper I would demand softeners.

    not sure really

They were 2 new globe trailers.

my point was that had to be the ugliest job ever - Not that you couldn’t get the trailer where it was going. Chains with padding would have been better but those straps will work.

having said that - the looping and knitting through multiple D rings does not scream competency. Hence why I might hide my face.

A tidier portable strap, specifically its over a wheel, 4" ratchet hooked to j track on the deck, then excess strap rolled up, popped through handle, and a bungee pulled through it and hooked to rail to preveny flyaway and some tension even if it loosens

    cke and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Instead of doing all that extra work. You know you can just roll up the excess strap like normal . leave about 2ft of excess. Pull the excess thru the loop . the grab the excess with other hand and pull it tight. And it turns out like this.

I used to do the whole bungee method before my buddy showed me this. Saves alot of time and work. And you can tuck it anywhere. Its not coming unraveled.

Never seen that way, I like that, will give it a go, seems perfect for under tarp, shouldn't bulge out as much., outside of tarp, got an example of how you tuck it to keep from flapping/swinging?

Yes i can post some pictures tmrw and show how its done so it makes sense. To keep it from flapping, before tightening down all the way, i just tuck it under where the strap is touching freight then finish tightening. If its palletized freight u can stick it in the forklift holes.
