How did they know that it was a Driver? Plenty of van hobo life and homeless living in cars park in those lots.

Driver shortage would end Monday if companies stopped lying. And offered some decent pay. No adult with responsibility is willing to stay away from home 5 days plus for $700 p/wk gross pay. When that can be made on a home everynight local job.

How many 4 wheeler operators are driving 11 hours daily? How many of them are awake longer than 14 hours daily?

    ZVar Thanks this.

I heard some drivers from US Foods talking yesterday. One there warehouses was offering nearly 30 an hour and their drivers were being offered over 30 an hour, they still can't find help. I think that it's more jobs than there are workers most definitely, but you know there are some folks looking for that "perfect job," 9-5, weekends off, big money, the type of job that's very scarce of it's even in existence.

homeskillet and Midwest Trucker Thank this.

You could offer people the world and trucking companies will always be looking for help. Most people can't handle the lifestyle. A good, experienced driver can gross double that, and 1400 per week is good money. If they aren't coming for that pay, why would they come for better money than that? Many drivers don't exactly make trucking look cool by the way.

They are setting up the agenda and narrative to usher in self driving trucks.

If they are not finding workers at that price it means one of two things.
    1. People know the company isn't worth working for because management makes it too stressful, or
    2. That may seem like a lot to someone that lives in Hickville, Alabama but to someone that lives in New York City it's not enough to pay for rent... I.E. if they are offering $30 /hr and not getting employees then everyone else in the area is offering more for the same type of work.

People that drive home or wherever for holidays are doing so for a long time. And also when people are moving they are driving for a while.
