At what point do these things intersect? Fuel would have to be pretty darned hight before I couldn’t squeeze out a profit? I might have to be more selective what and who I haul for but, people that haul to cheap won’t be in the way for very long at $5 or $6 a gallon.

That's exactly my point. People like you and I have made provisions to sit if need be. The gold rush carriers won't do that. They're just here for the temporary rush then they'll leave either by choice, necessity or plain ignorance.

    It's not a fairy tale..

    It's reality..

Do you not pay attention to what's going on in the world? Or is it only what you want to falsely blame in America?

What happens around the world. Effects the world as a whole.

It's not confined to one country. Whether you like it or not.

What's hilarious is you thinking it's just us.
And that things could be all rosy with someone else in charge.

    From the article:

In 2020, oil production in the United States reached 16.5 million barrels per day, the highest point in history. The United States currently produces more oil than any other country in the world (in 2020)

The United States produced the most oil in the world in 2020, at around 16 million barrels of oil per day on average.

That is not the case now. You are proving my point.

The moderators do not want politics introduced to this so I really don't know how to discuss this because it is the politics and it is the government that brings this about.

So with that in mind all I can say is yes 2020 was the highest production of oil. The United States had produced more oil than anyone in the world.

Some have tried to say that's not the case but your own article proves that is the case. When we made our own oil fuel prices were low.

Now that is over, and prices are high. It's only Common Sense your competitors will raise the price when they have no competition.

There is no simpler or clearer way to say it.

Anything else is a fairy tale.

Gas was cheap last year because of too much supply and not enough demand. We were locked down.

    There's really no other argument.

Supply and demand. Plain and simple as that.

Oil was also $30 last year. And for a brief moment. It dipped to -37.

Opec and Saudi sets the prices. Nobody else will sell for a different or cheaper price.

When oil crashed not too long ago. It was said they needed $60 to break even. It's slowly climbed back to $80.

You want cheap gas. Lock the world down again. Otherwise. Wait for electric cars to take over.

    There's no other argument.
And don't tell me we import. We have our own wells and it goes straight to our local refineries. And in to your tanks.

Supply and demand. You all forget that.
And demand has risen 400% with people hitting the roads again.

Go read the article that was quoted a few posts above.

2020 was the highest production of oil. The United States was the number one producer in the world.

This is not difficult to understand. If demand is up then why isn't this year the highest production of oil by the US? Anyone with even a tiny brain could see that would reduce the price, right?

Because we now buy from our competitors instead of make it ourselves.

Why Did OPEC have low oil prices previously? Because they didn't like the competition from the United States so they figured they have so much oil they would try to put the United States producers out of business.

It turns out they didn't even have to do that.

And thanks again for everyone that made this possible.
