Actually, yes it is! You either support mandates or choice! You can't work it both ways!

There's a fine line between mandating something and having a personal choice.

Here is a good analogy for you.

There is a boat with 100 people on it. 1 person decides its his choice to dig a hole through the hull in his cabin because he chooses to.

His single choice affects the other 99 people on the boat because he has the right to choose what he does with his cabin.

What I'm getting at is, yes, you do have a choice but if it will affect the rest of the people around in a negative way then someone needs to step in and make it that he won't harm others.

While I am on the subject let me play devil's advocate and say I am siding with you! If I were pushing this jab as a mandate I would be using a different argument! I would be using something like speed limit laws. These laws are in place to protect the public from the actions of others. I advised you to stop. Now using my example what you are now doing is saying I think you should have the choice to drive whatever speed you want, but I also think Cops should be enforcing the law!

When you start placing exceptions on freedom and choice you are now paving a VERY dangerous highway and need to be VERY careful in the process. Yes, it's true a person's right to swing their fist ends at the tip of my nose! My point is simply to use EXTREME care when you start using that public good argument!

So now you are equating someone who is doing an act of insanity with being an anti vaxer? Really? Careful, be very careful using that example!

My point was that if 1 person chooses to do something that could potentially hurt someone else how should society handle that?

Whether you think this is an issue or not, this is just one of many examples.

Going back to your example about speeding. Government has stepped in and put speed limits on our roadways to "lessen" the effects of someone getting into an accident. We will always have people that speed and thus we will always have accidents - same could be said for laws about using mobile devices and how they could cause accidents.

The catch is you can choose not to drive. You can't choose not to work.

    You just proved my point.

You can choose not to get the jab which in turns lets you not work or not go into certain establishments.

BS! First of all, it has not been fully proven these jabs work! I am not going to take the time to link articles to get into deeper details on this because you have already made up your mind the anti-vax people have mental problems! That dang jab I took in May has damaged my heart! This is something I am forced to live with every day and most likely has taken years off my life!

And it seems you’ve made up your mind as well.

Guess we are at a stalemate.

I'm not bizarre. You don't understand how I think. You see, people want to be controversial. All I've said is that I am understanding to all points of view in so many words. Would I rather people maintain their rights? Sure. Sometimes their are extenuating circumstances that are bigger than "our rights." I don't view this as harmful. In fact, I see this as a bridge to maintain a lot more freedoms. If you can eradicate or at least minimize the biggest threat, then all other freedoms are protected.
