First Fleet

I worked there a long time ago. My horrible experience may not be relevant today.
All the terminals were highly politized at that time. One company I worked for closed the doors and about 22 of us, or more, were recruited by First Fleet.
Within about 3 or 4 months only one of us was left. We quit! If the drivers didn't kiss up to the people in the office, they were pretty much SOL.
I did long runs; Tennessee to California and in between. Had to go to the Arizona terminal a lot and it was as screwed up and the rest of them.
Just one example, and this was not uncommon; took a loaded trailer to the Arizona Terminal and told the guy in the office, "I'm supposed to drop this loaded trailer and get an empty to take to Los Angeles." The guy went into a rage and accused me of being lazy and trying to dump my work on his drivers. I said, No, that's what I was told to do. He screamed , B## S### and told me to get moving. ;I did the several stops and at each stop the store managers were PO'd about getting the delivery so early; weren't supposed to get that candy for another 3 or 4 weeks. The last stop, the store wasn't even built yet, so no where to take it. Ended up going back to Arizona to the First Fleet terminal and was told I really screwed up and should have dropped the loaded trailer there and not made the delivery. The clown in the office denied telling me to make the deliveries, which of course was his way of covering for himself.
Anyway, all the terminals were run the same way, all over the USA. When I got back to Tennessee, I quit.

 

Be patient and when qualified, get a tanker job.

 

I've hauled ice cream sometimes. For some reason there were always some damages of my favorite kinds. Hated to throw it in the dumpster, so I ate it.

 

I have a question ( raises hand ).

How did the unqualified bimbo land the terminal manager position?

 

"She turned around and gave that big booty a slap, next thing you kno', she hit the flo', shorty got low low low low low low low"

 

Affirmative action hire, not enough college grads had jobs?

"English major? Its a mighty official looking piece of paper, Close enough, go manage logistics"

 

It probably depends on your terminal, if it’s good or bad. However, I always, ALWAYS see ads that they are looking for drivers, and to me, that is a huge red flag.
