Just curious, know they now have weekly call ins which drivers have to be on, if you're driving they require you pull over to be on call. They also require pictures be sent for pre/post trips, and with driver facing cameras you will get nailed even taking a drink of water if their camera registers an "event". Local management told them all when the new systems went into place "If you don't like it we can replace you." Now they're calling ex-employees because they can't cover their distribution routes, and telling customers they will have to come get their own product from the warehouse.

The only good thing that comes out of our safety meetings are empty pizza boxes.

    I wooda LOVED that tripe.
Wooda taken "way too many pictures" covering the Complete Exterior and Interior of Truck and as much of the Trailer exterior and interior (unless sealed), plus Brake Linings, Tire Tread Depths, grease on 5th, windows, body, Lights and all ON DUTY NOT DRIVING......or nothing apart from standard pre-trip would have happened.
    >>give more info than requested even when fantastical except to those that will do harm<<
    Thanks, CHEERS!!

A local coal company got into the natural gas game and adopted all the underground mining rules. I got in trouble for not wearing my gloves while walking to the porta potty. We hadn’t even started fracking yet. I was 20 feet away and he made me walk back to my truck and get gloves.

And, sadly, they will learn nothing from this.

Because the reality is they can get away with threatening to take away a person's job with 95% of people who aren't truck drivers. Big company I worked for did the same thing since management had all come from the plant side and it worked over there to keep people under their heel. They didn't realize that a truck driver can get a job quicker than they can file the paperwork for your resignation. They said deal with it or walk. Majority of us walked. Oops.

I saw the same thing happen with a small tanker outfit. They had the night drivers come in early for a two hour safety meeting. They didn't get paid for the two hours and there were no refreshments. They spent the whole time being lectured to and threatened by a little twerp that probably couldn't get a truck from the gate to the highway without breaking something.
The twerp told them that they were easily replaceable and if they didn't like the way things were they could just go home.
They did. Twelve of them, the entire night shift, quit.
The company itself lasted another two years and then folded up.
