Keep it simple. Just Carry them on the truck and you won't have to worry about it.

I was just going to avoid those states this winter and buy some chains next year.

I hadn’t looked at the prices and thought they were more expensive than that. Where can I purchase them for $120 ?

I just bought some at my local tire shop when I was home. Most truck stops have them. 2 weeks ago when I was in Lincoln, the shoemakers had a pallet of them when you walk in the door.

Ive had good luck with this company . Quality Chain Corp | Snow Tire Chains from the Largest Tire Chain Wholesaler in North America

Can find whatever u need on there. If u dont go out west very often, you could get by with just the cables. Much lighter easier to work with. I put about 15-20 passes on them last year over lookout pass and 4th of july and snoqualmie. Still good to go for this year.

I would not recommend the tire socks at all. It is not much better then running barefoot and if you start spinning they will disintegrate. Plus they are expensive as hell.
