Tranny is a 13 speed fuller roadranger in an 1979 gmc brigadeer behind a 671 detroit, so not exactly a powerhouse.

Full disclosure ran the tranny low on oil.....but not for too long.

Filled it up, but the splitter is sticky going into overdrive sometimes. When OD is selected, air gradually increases in velocity hissing out of the splitter slave valve exhaust until it finally will go into overdrive.

Will be fine for a couple of shift and then get sticky again.

    Any ideas?

Hey I had a similar issue with my 13 speed Eaton fuller 12513. Which js hooked up to an 8v92. It was sloppy and wouldn't go into 12th very well I replaced the shift isolator and the stick shift itself. Neither of those seemed to help. I had taken the splitter apart to clean it and ironically lost one of the ball bearings. So I have to get a new one. Crazy thing is it shifts like a dream now. I'd replace the splitter and air it up and disconnect the lines so they bl÷ed out air and any debris that my be in there. Hope this helps.

Over drive piston is on the lower left looking at the back of the transmission. It should have a brass shuttle valve in the side of it. Maybe replace it first.
Second remove the cover off the back of the cylinder. Replace the O-ring on the piston and clean the bore.

Ross_Tech and Diesel Dave Thank this.
