    2002 non-egr dt530e 300hp

I'm not sure who to turn to to ask for help, but I'm the sole mechanic here at my work. I recently rebuilt this engine and everything went well with that, timed properly, valves adjusted as per the manual.

I dropped it back in the frame a few days ago and got all the auxiliary systems hooked up. Oiled it up, bled the fuel back to the tank, holding 50 psi with the bleeder hand pumped till hard.

I'm seeing a spike of 1200 psi on the hpop system, 45 psi oil pressure when cranking. Pwm on the camshaft position sensor is good, good signal to the cluster.

Injectors are reused and know good.

Performed injector buzz test, checked good, buzzing strong, 153624.

Should of started no problem, but its not.

I've got check engine amber and red at key on, then they turn OFF after the cluster cycles. Cranks but wont start.

They should be on until the engine starts, but apparently it had other ideas.

    No DTC's logged.

Seems like the ecu isnt going into start/ run mode.

Ive unplugged my cam sensor and cranked to see if the ecu would log the hpop pressure rise without seeing the cam sensor, and it did report the dtc and illuminated the amber mil lamp, so I know the engine is communicating with the dash, but man oh man am I pulling my hair out over here.

    Anyone run into this before?

The biggest thing that I'm seeing is the mil lights are not staying on after the key on engine off cluster cycling, when they were previously.

Seems like the ecm is not even trying to fire the injectors when cranking even though it knows its being turned over at 200 rpm, the high pressure oil is up and it sees the cam signal.

Check and stop engine lights will come on at key on for bulb check and then go out, this is normal. You won't have them on during crank. During crank, watch your cluster, make sure you are seeing oil pressure come up and RPM around 200 on the tach. These can be a pain to start because you need both fuel and high pressure oil primed to fire the injectors. During crank, are you getting any smoke at all? Have someone crank the engine while you hold your hand over the exhaust to feel for exhaust flow to make sure your intake and exhaust isn't accidently plugged from a rag or something else.

juthura, stuckinthemud and AModelCat Thank this.

No smoke or fuel, good exhaust flow earlier when it was cranking. Oil pressure is 40ish psi and hpop peaking at 1200 psi. Battery voltage not dipping below 10.5 during cranking as well.
Never seen this happen with a dt, stressing me the heck out haha.

Only thing I can think to do is to jump the starter to bypass the ecm signal to crank it over, besides that who know. I’ve gone back and checked both ecm connectors, and ohmed out the body side positives and grounds and they checked good.

Alright, so that did a whole bunch of nothing, just cranked didnt catch.
    I'm all out of ideas.

Getting a new code though, I don't have a definition in either jpro, jaltest, or nexiq.

Anyone have a trouble fault list, I'm getting more from the dash but not through my software.
    All but one are logged.

Your seeing a spike of 1200 psi high pressure oil.
What is the pressure at after a few seconds if cranking?

The faults through the instrument pane are from the body module.
You can't get engine faults from the instrument panel.
