They say truckers are the most rude, disrespectful, arrogant, reckless and pissed-off creatures ever to walk this planet. With exception to the generalization factor in that statement, I absolutely endorse it.
What do you gain from being unnecessarily ill cultured....oh I know....college graduates are not suppose to drive a truck??? I agree, however welcome to the reality of an imperfect world. Due to the present situation of our economy, recent graduates have only two feasible employment options; the military or the trucking industry since both sectors are recession proof.
I advice you guys to get used to it, more college graduates are coming. By the way, I graduated from a prestigious university with bachelors in Economics and minors in Physics and Mathematics. I am particularly proud of my academic achievements so don't worry, I wont be in this industry too long if that makes you feel better.
This is the same senario at the trucking school I attended, even the wanabes were extremely rude, jealous and particularly mischievous toward a guy who had the patience to sit in a class while going through years of college education for no real reason. I would sympathize with him had it been I wasn't that guy on the other side of the road.
You guys seat here; complaining on how bad every company out there is. Not more-than 10 individuals in this entire forum have something positive to say about their employer.... and I am supposed to not try my best to make a good employment decision?
Thanks to all positive inputs, I look forward to getting on the road soon.
Which company should i choose??

Scorpious, don't believe that trucking is recession proof, as you stated. When hard times happen, people keep their wallets closed and the lack of spending affects every industry. While there are many dumb folks in this business, you'll be surprised how many street wise, self educated people you'll run into. It truly is a brotherhood and you'll soon forget you have a diploma in your back pocket and will be just one of the boys out here giving it your best.
