My mother had one of each done and according to her the hip replacement was a lot easier to recover from.

I've had hip one year and knee the next. Hip is a piece of cake, knee is a lot tougher. As long as you do the therapy(as much as it hurts) you will be really happy in a pretty short time. When I did my hip, they had me walking on it a few hours after surgery

Midwest Trucker, xlsdraw and dwells40 Thank this.

The problem we're having is getting her quad muscle to start working right again. She can do all the other exercises except the ones that require the thigh muscle, but since she got out Thursday evening, the PT office hasn't contacted us for her 1st office visit yet, so we haven't gotten a professional therapist involved yet, which might help.

Talked to the therapy place this morning. I reviewed the discharge paperwork and it said we needed to call them...but the doctor told us that they would call us(it's part of the same medical complex he is associated with). Wednesday is the 1st therapy appointment available, so I contacted Deland to find out how long I can be out before I lose my truck...she said I can stay out until 11/9 since I have that extra vacation time...it use to be a max of 14 days before you had to return your truck...so I said put me out until then(the follow up with the surgeon is 11/4), this way I can see to all her medical visits until she can at least walk with a cane instead of a walker before going back out. She is soooooo thankful I didn't leave. And with this kind of treatment, along with the increased pay...I am kinda glad I didn't as well.

See, sometimes the best course of action is no action. Take a deep breath and work it out.

So if I take the 3, then drive later beyond the 14, does it just give a warning, and then the warning goes away after the qualifying 7 is done? I'm just a bit leery to keep driving beyond the 14 timer countdown, and want to know what to expect. Thanks for your help.
