As an O/O I think you would agree that Marten and any other company would treat you better than their company drivers, like comparing apples to oranges.
Starting new driving job the 29th. Going with Marten.

I like your attitude Looney! If you listen to the negative comments from fellow truck drivers you would believe that succeeding in trucking is impossible. BUT it seems that the drivers with positive attitudes and hard working ethics seem to attract 'good luck'. The whiners on this board deserve themselves. All trucking companies know the good guys in their driver fleet and distribute the loads accordingly, the pain in the ### negative drivers get to sit in the truck stops for the weekend. Looking forward to your updates, all the best bro.

Second day of orientation here. Lots of video conferencing scheduled for today with corporate HQ in Mondovi. Yesterday was 50 tons of paperwork, physical, and road test. They already sent two guys home. One for his blood pressure and another one who failed the road test-that guy nearly ran over two people and cut a car off. And he literally had to be threatened with calling the cops when he refused to leave the orientation.

Well second day is done and found out I will get a truck right there out of the Indy terminal. The video conferencing thing was cool with all the departments. They said they nearly have the Phoenix terminal ready to open and they are also looking at putting one in at Memphis and possibly even Salt Lake. My only big complaint so far is the mandatory per diem. I mean I like the per diem pay but again I think it should be optional for drivers, not forced on everyone.

Ok got a slightly used Cascadia, and everything works fine on it, the APU, engine runs smooth and this one will actually go 67. Got a load out of a cold storage just south of Indy going to Sioux Falls for Monday. They told me to stop by the house and pick up the rest of my gear. Asked them if it was ok to stay home till Saturday afternoon and they are cool with that. Dispatch says more than likely from Sioux Falls will head down to Dakota City for a Tyson load or over to Worthington, MN.
The Challenger, Dryver, JustSonny and 1 other person Thank this.
