I don't know about Pennsylvania. My world starts in the upper left hand corner of California and stops somewhere on the west slope of the Rockies. From that point on it's like a foreign country to me. I don't speak the language and I don't understand the customs.
I try not to let it affect me any more than possible. Sometimes that's not easy. ;)

I understand totally. It will make you wanna hollar for real. I'm in Tennessee and we only have sales tax, the highest in the country, but we don't have to worry about income tax or ridiculously high fuel tax. He'll since I'm in Memphis, if I want to buy big ticket items, all I gotta do is cross the river into AR or drop into MS lol. I mentioned PA because their fuel tax is right behind CA for the highest.

Funny thing-A lot of people don’t believe I live in Massachusetts because I don’t have the “Bahstin” accent!
I always tell folks that the majority of “transplanted Midwesterners” like myself (with minor exception to some folks in Minnesota or the Dakotas) that we don’t have a accent, par se,it’s just that people understand us really, really well! ROTFLMMFAO

What i hear people formerly of socal say is "to disincentivise driving, too much traffic and pollution"

More than likely its some kind of political post-hoc reasoning thing though

To disincentive driving actually makes sense. It's ridiculously crowded in LA and nobody believes in carpooling to cut back on gas costs. Buying a lot less gas collectively would help drive the price down, but nobody thinks like that....

seems like they have "sooth-sayers" that foresaw the future and electric cars....

just wait till they get higher electric bills for all those electric cars in the driveways.

Ronald Reagan won the election against Jimmy Carter in a landslide by asking Americans a very important question. “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” The same question may be asked again in 2024.

Just ONE of the reasons I left and moved to AR......the weather is the ONLY reason one would think about staying.

I'm overwhelmed with the friendliness of the people in NW Arkansas. After living in SoCal for 48 years you forget how friendly the folks in the mid-West are. Last house in SoCal we only "knew" one neighbor after 6 years......here, before we even moved into our house we'd met the other 4 neighbors on the block......see and TALK with them everyday.....what a wonderful change.
