I love my truck, like my second wife. Sounds weird but that’s what I feel. I mean, gives me protection from the weather, warm during cold and cool insuring summer. And gets me where I need to drop off a load and pick up. I drive a full cab not a day cab.
Do I name my truck? Don’t mind if I do, my human wife is nickname is Tiger, so my second wife (my truck) Cheetah. I mean she’s fast as hell. Some days. I can talk how I’m feeling and knowing that it won’t be spread. So Cheetah, just drives and follow my commands but I treat her like a man should. Second relationship. I’m not cheating
    Tell me yours.

She will test your love. Wait until she breaks down in Atlanta in the middle of August when it’s 104° out. Not sure if you’re a company driver or an owner operator. That could also make a difference. When she breaks down what is she worth? You have to drag all your stuff to take the a couple hours and put it on another truck and you know in a few days when your truck is fixed you’ll have to drag it all back onto your original truck.

I do everything in my truck. Yes, everything. I even cook from scratch, if the weathers bad I’ll do a work out inside my truck with some dumbbells, he’ll I’ve even entertained a few ladies in my truck, but when she breaks down, I know immediately I’m in for a couple long weeks moving gear back-and-forth and losing stuff in my truck driving experience just being more chaotic.

No my truck is a tool. I have no loyalty to it beyond keeping it as well maintained as possible to get as many miles our of it before it has major breakdowns.

I've never been able to come up with names for vehicles. When I was a kid it was "the white station wagon". Then my kids called my first truck the red truck, the flatnose, your uncle's truck and now my current one is "your truck".

    She is my mistress.

Nope. Got lots of friends who are in love with trucks but mine is no different than my dads snap on wrenches. Its used to do a job.

Not many owners with preemission cat, detroit, cummins powered trucks backed by 18 speeds anymore. Bad arse petes, kw and freightshakers. The guys that took pride in their ride and loved trucking amungst like minded fellows. So now all you left with is new generation eople with problem plastic trucks and automatic transmission emisson junkers who just do it to make ends meet. These guys that stlll around get roasted for having seat down low, shifter up high, and blowing black smoke with straight pipes and chicken lights. But hey good luck with this thread. Probably will be mostly filed with people that hate there job and where lifes path brought them.

Pretty cool generalization that the only guys who take pride in their trucks are the ones with hoods.

Dang it, you beat me to the punch by moments lol. Just because my truck is plastic doesnt mean i dont care for and love her problems and all. Maybe not in the same way as a pet or family member. But more in the way you care for a favored tool or a book you have read dozens of times, maybe a jacket you have had for years.

Replaceable and disposable? Maybe....but its MY plastic truck and you cant bloody well have it. She may not be a hood but I like her and dispite her problems shes a slick rig and a fine tool.
