At the TA in Sparks getting some truck and trailer issues addressed. New trailer tire, 3rd one this trip, lost a trailer mudflap somewhere across the salt flats yesterday in the high wind and getting my 2 new steer tires that were put on last Thursday at the Richmond yard balanced.

I’m very outspoken when it comes to corporate philosophies, but this time I’m going to give kudos out to Joe at the shop in Richmond, breakdown for setting this up overnight, and the TA shop for getting me in at 0600 this morning. Oh, and CalTrans for cleaning up that mess west of me.

52 is a good food exit.

You can go a little further down 11 and park in the Super 8 truck lot and then walk across the street to the Middlesex Diner

Here’s a Volvo load to Reno that’s not going to make it. In fact, it made it as far as Russellville. 7865AC98-8CA9-4AC9-8BED-F212A01CEE58.jpeg 5057D07D-E718-4960-A423-EB97B93D09AF.jpeg B129B637-D829-41D2-9249-6A4B53FF74CC.jpeg

Yes. I got a call this morning from the mothership to pick up a driver of ours at the motel across from the Pilot in Russellville and bring him to WM. I was 3 hours away so it wasn’t an issue. Was told he didn’t have much belongings with him, basically the clothes on his back and his cell phone.

It was a driver I knew that’s been here as long as I. Picked him up and needless to say he was a wreck. Long story short, he was westbound yesterday at 11am on his way to Reno when all of a sudden he heard a pop under the floorboard right above the tranny. He had just enough time to hit the shoulder and jump out of the truck while flames started pouring out from under the hood. When I went buy this morning at the 77mm, they were still
there cleaning up the aftermath. We lost the truck, trailer and load, and he lost everything except the clothes in his back.
