    Yes Thanx . I’m on phone with a recruiter now . Think I will do a year with a company regional with flatbed or tanker . Then if it’s too much I will cut out to Food industry . Thanx for your time and input I appreciate it

    And looks like I still will have to commute to the yard to do OTR etc being there isn’t a yard in my home state .

    Real quick Question filling out application the dot section where it ask if I have been in any accident . If I was in on but as a passenger with a Uber driver his fault I think I have to put that would they find out or just make things easier and check no never been in a accid

    Well, all I can say is I am two weeks into the training g program. None of us signed a repayment agreement, nobody talked to us about a tuition cost, one student repeatedly pressed our recruiter about it and was repeatedly assured there is no tuition or repayment. The instructors said it cost the company about $5,600 to rent the space and trucks, pay instructors and the examiner, plus the travel for out of towners.

    those traveling to Portland from eastern WA, Seattle, California, Indiana, Colorado get air fare, hotel and car rental for each week, plus a debit card for per diem which I think is around $50/day. Those of us local get nada. Lol. We are all paid dock workers rate while in class which is about $17.50/hr. The minute we get our CDL our pay goes to our driver pay which for us doing P&D is about $24.60/hr starting no matter what work we are actually doing.

    It is a very good program. No tricks.
    The P&D is daytime with a few hours wi Dow start time from about 6am-11am and can be 10-12 hr days with OT after 8 hours. Free top line healthcare for the family with only copay of $15.

    Line haul is mostly nights driving a day out to next terminal, overnight in a motel like Holiday Inn Express, and back home the next day. Both types of routes are home every weekend.

    I don’t have any experience… that’s the dilemma . I have to find a company that will train me to get my cdl. Stay for a few months then go else where that will pay me for my few months of experience and train me me or give me sign on bonus.

    I just have combination endorsements and max get Tanker . And I’m in New York now . Long Island board queens . I was thinking about moving to a warmer state .
