Actually, a very well thought out and presented article. The truth hurts and the "suits" don't want to hear the truth. Talk is cheap, especially from a politician.

Funny thing is, we learned during the start of the pandemic that maybe we shouldn't be relying so much on overseas freight. It was the silver lining to be learned. Predictably like a bunch of lab rats, America sits and asks a year later what the hell is going on.
We are doomed from stupidity and it's my obligation to charge as much as I can for said stupidity.

The feds paid companies to move every factory to Mexico or communist China .

Why not move every factory to the other side of the world in a commie country to save a nickel ?

what could possibly go wrong ?

It boggles my mind, we didn't even have masks or aspirin when China turned their ships around last year. It was the biggest wake up call ever. We could never fight another World War if we had to. Defeated before we even start. It's where we are. I guess we can blame it on truck drivers and the ports? Whole thing is embarrassing.

Eliminate all of the requirements for newer trucks in the ports, suspend the ban on gliders in California, and waive the TWIC card until everything goes back to normal. Of course, this will never happen.

Well written article. The author definatly has alot of experience. I love how he said some drivers wont touch a container with a 100ft pole. That driver would be me. Those things can sit at the port for all i care. Id wear flip flops and pull a reefer before i ever touch a can.

I don’t think Malcom McLean and Roy Fruehauf envisioned this cluster.

Until there is warehouse space for all that crap, it will sit in containers somewhere. Lots of desert in CA, so start stacking them out there.

I'm still baffled by the amount of people who believe the problem is not a truck shortage, but their solution is to get more trucks into the port. In case you skipped the article, they say the lines are super long. People used to be able to turn 3 loads a day, now they're lucky to do 1. Making the line longer is not going to help at all.
