Happy for you. I don't need a permission slip either. I love my wife and we make decisions together probably why we have been happily married for 20 yrs. LOL if we are listing things I have 5 motorcycl eh never mind not playing that game

Stuff I noticed on a quick look at the pictures.

Orange peal paint on the dash and door jambs is visible in the picture. Dash is gloss should be satin or flat, Also chrome piece missing from the dash.

The underneath shot looking at the rear diff: Terrible rattle can job on the rear axle and springs. Shocks look like they need a freshening up. Bed was not taken off for paint... Still white on the bed bottom and back side of the sides, also the back sides of the cab. If they paid $19k for cosmetics they got ripped off.

Cheap after market steering wheel. looks like they did not bother with polishing the switch surrounds... wonder if they even pulled them out to paint. And what is up with the worn red velour seat and belts? What is up with the diamond plate in the bed?

Side view mirrors seem to be mounted a bit high for my taste.

Had a front row seat for a heavy load a couple of weeks ago. Was politely inquiring of myself why traffic seemed to be flowing like there was a rolling road block in front of us on I90. The road rage surrounding me was very noticeable. Finally caught up to the road block and said "dang that splanes thing." Truck and rear pilot just pulled into the middle of the road and stopped until the front pilot gave the all clear to cross a couple of bridges. They were just moving a locomotive..... caught up with the NV bound 201.

pilot cars have no actual power to command anything - some states allow them to do traffic control if they are certified (Texas being one of them).

I have no idea what went wrong and the story also has no details of other than it was a 16 wide load on a “bridge”.

based on that the front pilot should have stopped traffic by parking and getting out of their car with a stop sign. The truck should not have traveled onto the bridge until receiving confirmation that the traffic was in fact stopped.

the front pilot likely was holding a flag or stop out the window of their car and trying to push oncoming traffic to the shoulder.

as the driver - once you get on the bridge it’s all over.

this is world that I operate in and there are unbelievable risks involved. It takes experience and judgement to move these loads - not everyone can or should but hey they were $10k cheaper….

"The lead pilot car ran her off the road", yet then she continued travel. I've seen this before where the convoy keeps moving after motioning vehicles off the road only for an individual to think they can continue once the pilot vehicle(s) move on.

Landstar settled for 50 million. That award is against the lead pilot cars.

Most of the Pilot cars I see aren't doing jack. Seems like it's all on the truck driver. They're just there for show.

You don't remember that settlement? It knocked like 20 cents off of every piece of stock.

Well the Waffle House debacle turned out well. Was a sign. I booked a Saturday load to Indiana, and a Monday Load home. Delivers Monday night. All in all not a bad week. Short miles for decent rates. Somewhere around 2400 total miles. Mon to Monday $6700. Not that great. But not much work either.

That was my exact point - that is not how you do traffic control. Think school crossing guard…. The lead car stops after making a u turn to park in the opposite direction on the shoulder. Then gets out and stops traffic using a stop sign. Once traffic is stopped and they are holding the traffic there - then the truck is notified and proceeds onto the bridge. That’s how it is supposed to work.

Oklahoma will ticket pilot cars for crossing the center line attempting to hold traffic - just ask some pilots from a wind job I was on last year. ..

even after having a pre trip safely meeting to address that exact issue.

We have advanced the load 608.7 miles in the direction of the most awesomest state.

Fuel mileage took a hit do to wtf crosswind. Wind was HOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWLLLLLIIING for 300 miles.

But to get unloaded, reloaded, truck set up and down the road 600 miles.......The OM is pleased.

We had cheeseburgers and fries, and the fries were right out of the fryer......nice and hot, coated with salt. The OM drown them in ketchup too.
