There's a couple people here that have no issues with them but I agree with you and Midwest. They can jam it.

Uber really does suck. There seems to always be a problem with a load cancelling before you arrive or wrong appointment times. And yeah their customer service is the absolute worst. Not sure if Convoy will work well in your area, but they are 100% better than Uber. The customer service isn't much better with foreign reps that are difficult to understand , but they don't have nearly the trouble with scheduling loads so you don't need to speak with them as often as Uber. Detention can also be a hassle with Uber compared to Convoy which is automatic and you usually don't have to do anything additional.

I fall asleep waiting for a phone call. They email me instead so I wake up an hour after this. They tell me they have talked with customer and I will get loaded. Thats works as i will still make on-time delivery.
I go to the gate (no person, callbox to ahipping people in California, but have Russian accent. Ok. Whatever. Now he tells me my appointment isn’t till the 29th!!!! I flip #### and tell him I will be loaded and ask why did he tell me to come back and now has changed the date. He takes my number and says hold tight.

I find a yard jockey and tell him of the situation. He radios inside and lets me park where i am. He saved the day(or night) and got things fixed. Appt was 0100. I showed at 2300. Got a door at 0500. Depart at 0600. Got to consignee at 0845. Appt was for 0700. My short day will now be a full day. F U Uber……..again.

Forgot to mention. Robots load the trucks. Only one other truck was there. No reason to not load me.

I will be using Convoy this week as my business account should be good to go. I got an extra level of fraud protection and its taking longer than expected to be 100%. Uber was easy to get my feet wet…..or so I thought. I did make money so not all is lost. Just my precious time.

That’s why you call the shipper before you head out , and why you call the receiver too

That's not always possible. Especially with the large shippers and receivers with locations all over the country, loads are booked through some central office in a completely different location than where you're going. The likely hood of actually reaching somebody who will know about your load is slim.

This is exactly what happened today. This local warehouse wasn’t on their phone menu. No phone number on Google either. When they did call it was from an Ontario California number. I am in South Western Pennsylvania

For this reason I love power only. Pick and drop no issues. I don’t have to deal with anyone pretty much for days on end.

Thanks!! Got a 1998 FLD120 that is a working project. Lease to own an overpriced 2014 Wabash dryvan…..anything I found to pay cash for was an old junker. My buddy did the opposite. 2018 or 2019 Peterbilt 579 with a 2008 dryvan. He’s had a lot of floor issues and trailer rejections. I didn't want that. My trailer payment is way less than his truck payment so Im happy LOL. Only starting second week and I’m really happy with this decision, even with the hiccups and delays.
