Kelloggs....Not trying To Start anything, But Just FYI

Back in the day, if the Kellogg's workers went on strike, the railroad crews wouldn't cross the picket line to deliver railcars of supplies or pickup box cars of cereal. And the teamsters wouldn't cross the picket line to drop and pickup trailers. Now the unions are so weak, they won't stand behind other unions.

 

Them's rookie hours.

Do that and more in the patch during a boom.

 

Ever seen the hours loggers do?

I've seen the crew sleep in their pickups on the landing, because it wasn't worth going home.
But they had the button top fixed, and when I drove 2.5 hours to the show, got there at 4:30 am, they heard me backing in, woke up, jumped in the machine, and loaded me. All 4 men said they got 5 hours sleep in their pickups, so were ready to work. Sometimes they get less sleep than that. I have yet to meet a lazy logger, they have my complete respect.

 

Oh yes. Most of my family has been involved in forestry and some point.

 

They're tough, and don't give up.

I said I'll never marry, and meant it.
But if I were to, can almost be guaranteed it's to a logger.

 

Always worked 100 plus hours a week in the patch.

 

Lots of tough talk here from those that never walked in another persons shoes .

 

Kelloggs had a plant in London Ontario but it closed.....wonder why ?

 

I had to pick up a load at a Nabisco plant last month and drive through a picket line turning into the facility. Dudes were yelling at me telling me not to go in. I rolled down my window and asked them what the F they wanted me to do. No one had a valid answer so I continued on. When I left I pretended they weren't there. Not my cross to bare. If your gonna tell me to stop working you better get out of your lawn chairs and give me a good explanation why.
