Month ago had a rough running engine. Took it to Detroit, got the top set done, they found the injector harness plug, was corroded and giving weird pulses to injectors. No harness ANYWHERE. BACKORDERED....SO.... They took it apart, replaced some pins and re assembled. It worked great for a while but started to crap out again, and REALLY does it if you get into deep slush/rain with the drivers side front wheel...
    So... the dilemma.....
The new harness is finally on it's way, told it was shipped today... had them air freight it. Have an appointment for Friday.... I'm 2.5 hrs from home, just did my last drop, do I go home and wait for it to show and fridays appointment, or do I go 13 hrs west and do another turn....
The wh%$@ in me says chase the $$$$
The scared little boy, (and i was when it dropped a couple cylinders sunday at the shipper for about 10 minutes)
Well, he says go the %$# home ya greedy ba$#@rd. Lol

Go home. Why? Because one of you’re last thoughts won’t be “Glad I did that extra Load before Christmas”. Might just be a good memory, with the family. You can always take a chance, I have plenty of times. Mainly out of necessity. Just have to figure worst case scenario. Will someone be able to bring the harness to you right away? Can you change it yourself if needed? It’s fairly simple to do. Can’t remember if jakes need to come off or not. Could even leave them disconnected, if pressed for time, working in a Blizzard on the shoulder in 20 degree weather. Doesn’t sound like much fun. Lol. Go home and rest. You won’t regret it.

I fully understand. Guaranteed to be $800-$2000.I have a new harness at home. Maybe it should be on the Truck! Been waiting to run an overhead to do it.

If it was summer or at least spring or fall I'd just go home and go for a ride. But they are talking NorEaster for Wednesday, so I'd have plowing with the 4wheeler to look forward to.....

Take the extra time at home. Always something to take up your time.
That stress, of not sure when the motor might stop, that will wear a guy out quick.

For me personally I'd shut that rig down and hire another if you really need to do another load.

I'd stay home and get it fixed, having to be towed back home or having to ship your harness to another shop, who may or may not have time to install it sometime yet this year, could eat any extra money you make.

I'd go home, but then again I'm always looking for an excuse. Plus, it's been a really good year.

    So what have you decided?
