In this job market I dont think it will be too hard for you to get another job. Its not like you rolled the truck or rear ended aomebody on the interstate.

    And one final question.
Whose idea was it to pull into a "Gas Station"?
Although there is a truck parked along the north curb, those long parking spots behind the building are marked for cars not trucks. And the exit you took out the south side is not set up fora truck to exit without blocking any vehicle from entering, as you found out.
Be interested to know if the trainer chose that stop.

Well this is how we ended up there... so we left northern New York earlier that day... lowville to be exact... I wad a few hours into my driving and we typically try to stop around every 3 to 3 1/2 hours... just to use the bathroom and stretch our legs... when we did our pre trip or say I did the pre trip there was supposed to have been a travel center on exit 44.... according to truckerspath and his book... but there wasn't one on exit 44... not trying to get to far out of route and without making a u turn this look liked the best alternative so we stopped there done our thing and proceeded on... you can pull in one way and go out the back of the parking lot... it looked alright as there was two trucks already there one being a tmc flatbed and I forget the other company

Although being there is a rookie mistake to begin with at the time it seemed like the better option when I seen trucks sitting there.... I definitely made some mistakes in this... I have studied it over all week as we have been on our way back to the terminal for my meet with safety... I have definetly found some key points in this incident that I need to correct on... just gonna hope everything goes good and I can take this as a lesson hard learned and that they will allow me to show I have learned from this situation... in my past I have had one wreck since I was 16 and have logged close to 100 thousand miles on motorcycle with no wrecks... I always figured myself to be a safe and cautious driver but this has definetly been an eye opener... cause no matter how safe you think you are or your trying to be something can happen in the blink of an eye... but like I said I hope they will give me the chance to learn from these mistakes and continue my career with them instead of letting me go

As far as my trainer goes imma go ahead and let ya know that I am his first trainee... I left with him after he finished trainer class and I gotta say the guy has taught me alot... so far I have had a good experience with him up until this point..

Now whether he should have directed me different or not when we decided to pull in there I dunno.... I have had alot of people question why he let me get in this situation and to answer that I'm really not for sure... I don't wanna put any blame on this guy as he seems to be trying...

As a trainer for 10 years I've always taken the viewpoint that if one of my guys hits something while they're with me, that's on me as much as it is on them.

I could see that if I was to become a trainer.... he has been a trainer for three weeks and I hope this has been as much as a learning experience for him as it has been me...I appreciate everyones input on this... we have had some delays but we're looking at being at the terminal around 15:30 so I should know something more then... have been extremely nervous... and as buzzard said would I wanna work for a company that would fire me for this minor accident... well I'm a company type person... I wanna succeed at this so bad and would like to succeed with this company for as long as I can... I don't wanna have to leave on there terms due to my failure... if I leave this company I wanna know it's for reasons to better myself... and that is even if that situation ever came... I typically like staying with a company for long periods of time... I'm looking for a place to call home for the extended stay and I don't wanna lose this job here

And then you had a Homer Simpson reaction, "DOAH", when you passed the NY Thruway service plaza 1 mile west of the exit you took????

    Good Luck
