CRE is the BOTTOM, anybody is better then CRE. I know people who have hopped over to Swift and are amazed at how better Swift is then CRE.

There's comments about Central all over this forum and they all seem to indicate that they're pretty good company to work for. I live In the Salt Lake City, UT area, Central's HQ. I applied on line just yesterday.

Hey there, well first of all I can tell you that central is now under new management. I am a swift employee and just 4 days ago I received the following Qualcomm message: "Dear drivers, we are pleased to announce that swift transportation had expanded by purchasing Central Refrigerated. This is another step to fulfill our mission to attract and retain customers by providing best in class transportation solutions and fostering a profitable disciplined culture of safety service and trust."

with that being said, good luck. When it was owned by CRE son they didn't seem to care one way or the other about accidents. I'm here to tell u now if a driver has even a no fault accident swift tries to prosecute you. I'm going thru that now. If you are a new driver I suggest working for a big company long enough to get your foot in the door maybe get a good 6 months to a year over the road experience and then be on your way. The first year you won't make any money because starting pay is generally anywhere from 23 to 25 cents a mile. CRE starting pay for is 23 cents a mile. Swift is 25. It takes a long time and you have to deal with a lot of bs but if you stick too it, get your experience and learn values of the trade you will do just fine regardless of the company. But after u get the experience, if I were u I would find me a small fleet to run for. You make better money and don't get treated like just a number on a board. Good luck.
