The fruits of my labor for today

What a terrible start to the week I had on Sunday. I parked at the Loves on I-10 in El Paso at the #37 mile marker. Did a 34hr reset before making my delivery in Santa Teresa on Monday. So, I spent all day on Sunday cleaning the truck. I cut and polished the wheels on the truck and trailer and they turned out pretty good. I am satisfied with how the first cut and polish came out but they still need some more work.
After putting all of my tools and cleaning supplies away it was time to get a shower and settle down for the night. I get back to the truck and go to the passenger side door to put my stuff in the seat and realize that tht door is unlocked. Hmmm. I don't remember leaving it unlocked. Hopped in the truck to find my TV was removed from the mount and my laptop sitting next to it. Son of a ... Now I know why the door was unlocked. My wallet and my backpack were MIA. I check around the store to make sure I didn't accidentally drop my wallet and have no luck. As I'm walking to the truck I get a call from the Bank of America Fraud Department asking if I was trying to spend $448.18 at a Walmart that was 29 miles away in far east El Paso. Uh, no, it's not me. Then they ask about the other transactions. I said "what other transactions?" My debit card had been used at 4 different Alon gas stations and an online purchase at Dicks Sporting Goods. Total damage from debit card: $1300.00 Total damage from cash in my wallet: $650.00.
With my wallet they got my CDL, Fuel Card, TWIC card, SS Card, PayPal credit card, wife's debit card and wife's Target card. They only used my debit card. Called the bank back and cancelled everything. These idiots still tried to use my debit card in El Paso on Monday and Tuesday after it was reported stolen. Luckily I had just purchased fuel when I stopped on Saturday afternoon for my restart.
I made it to San Antonio yesterday afternoon at 5:03pm to make my delivery. Cost me an extra $80.00 out of pocket to hook the forklift drivers up with some extra cash for the holiday season for coming back to unload me after hours. They get off work at 400pm and came back after hours to unload me which was awesome. It was well worth the $80.00 because this load paid me 3X the normal rate for 50,000lbs from El Paso to San Antonio.
Got empty last night and hauled butt northbound to Waxahachie. Got a new copy of my driver's license online from the Texas my Texas portal and they give you a 60-day temporary paper license until the new one arrives. Turn in a fresh copy of my CDL-7 form for self certification because I take no chances with the state of Texas and having my CDL downgraded again.
To all my friends, fellow drivers and their families and the people that support the transportation industry have a safe and happy holidays and enjoy the time with your loved ones.Attached Files:
