Great post, S2B. When I read something like that it assures me that I've made the right decision to go with WS. Good to know what we are getting ourselves into, and how the company operates Also good to know that a few miles OOR isn't a big deal to them as long as it's accounted for. I have a question for you..I asked in another thread, but maybe you can answer it here: Which fuel network does WS use? I visited all of the "big 4" over last weekend and it made me curious..

Happy New Year to you. See you out there soon....

Wrp, they use pilot, flyin j t/a and petro... we use what ever is cheaper... when you become empty and available for disp you send in on the qc what your fuel level is and it will tell you where to fill up. it finds the cheaper fuel prices along a route. and the price you see listed up on the big sign is not what the company pays, they have deals with the big companies... i HATE and i mean HATE t/a... they are nasty... i think i have showered at only 3 of them and thats it...

oldnewb, i enjoy helping others weahter they work here or not... its something i have always enjoyed doing, i guess i can thank my parents for raising me that way... when i see a newb asking for help ill always be the first one to offer in anyway i can, and tho i have only been out here for 2 years, i am still a newb myself, but I have 2 more years exp then someone with 1 day, or even 1 year... taking 10 mins or an 2 hours to help someone better understand something is far better then reading or hearing about a fellow driver who had something bad happen to them.... i tend to give my cell phone # out to a lot of new drivers to our company... heck, some even before they are hired on here so can talk to a driver and get the real facts... but iv lost track of who people are and whos number is who i now just stick to my email....like i said, i enjoy helpin others... except for the lot lizzrds and the " I need money for my kids " at the truck stops... they need to come up with new lines!!:biggrin_25522:

Ha, thats funny. I found the TA's not to my liking either. The stop we went to that I liked the most was the Petro on the North side of the Grapevine on I5. Big, clean, and nice people. I did notice that all of them seem to have the exact same stuff in their stores....I don't plan on spending much money in the stores as I'm sure they have higher prices than other places. For food and such, I'll probably hit the Wally worlds and such and stock up there. Maybe coffee and odds and ends occasionally.

Thanks again for all the great info. It helps a lot!

well it depends really on what ur looking for, sometimes things are cheaper, but as you said, most things are overly prices at the truck stops. and yes, they all pretty much sell the same CRAP, you can get good deals on dvd, most of them are around 9 bucks they are used, but they are as good as new... coffee imho pilot hands down!!, but get me near a dunkin donuts and walk as far as 1 mile each way for a cup.. some people are addicted to drugs, im addicted to dunkin donuts haha.
i baught a fridge at walmart when i first started and it lasted all of 9 months... so then i went to lowes and got a King Chief mini fridge/freezer and its been in my truck since april and still going strong... ill try and find a pic of the one i have and post it up... its big, and nice!!

I'd like to know what model fridge you have. I want to get one of those eventually after I finish training. Maybe a microwave too with an inverter.

You still waiting on that load S2B? Thought you'd be long down the road by now. I did have some coffee from 1 or 2 places, and I believe the Pilot coffee was the best as well!! Looks like great minds think alike, S2B...:biggrin_25514:

I'd like to see a picture of your chill chest, or at least the model number so I can check it out. I'm also looking at small microwaves as well, as well as a lunchbox cooker. I'd like to be able to make "home cooked" meals in the truck so I don't have to eat junk/fast food all day every day. I'd probably still have breakfast a few times a week as I love a good one, and maybe 1 dinner a week.
