So I’m curious has TFI given any indication as to what they’re gonna do about the union contract and continued union representation and when does the contract actually expire

Sure. Contractually, TFI will have to honor the existing teamster contracts that are in place until they expire.

Things don't look horrible on that front, because TFI has a history of working with the Union with some of the other companies they've purchased. This would make them rather exceptional in that regard, because generally the first step of any purchase is to break the union to maximize profits. As for how...nice they are in contract negotiations, I have no idea.

So the UPS Freight contract was ratified in 2018, which means they have until the end of July 2023 on this current existing contract. And we'll see what happens after that.

Oh wait. You blocked me because I'm a troll. Oh noooooo!!!

If someone wants to copy and paste that for the serious fella, I'm sure he'd actually appreciate it, despite my "troll" status.

    You beat me to it.
@LTL Bull this kind of thread moves real fast when it starts then slow down because of the guy who started it has to wait for new information to come in about his original complaint about his company. So what you referred to as trolls are just entertaining filler as we’re waiting out to see how things turn out. Yes at times the jokes kind of get old because you’ve read I’m 10 times before on other threads but it’s important that they’re posting here cause that keeps the thread alive. So you don’t have to go through 40 pages looking for what was posted before. Therefore please get a thicker skin and guys who like to joke around please continue to joke around.

It came to my attention this morning that Tforce has stopped contributing to 401k plans. I put the question to the person who was relating this to me, "what about the company's retirement plan?" When I was driving for Overnite, before UPS, we had a company retirement which was100% funded by the company and then we had 401k that the company and employees contributed to . The person who I was conversing with did not know about the company plan.

The fact that you ask someone to post and paste something that you posted that you know I blocked is the very definition of a troll

You asked a question about when does the current teamster contract end, and he answered it to help you get the answer to your question. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Nah. That was a funny one-off. It wasn't even written snidely. He obviously can't even read what I wrote. But it IS factual, if he wants facts.

It does surprise me that they stopped contributing to 401K plans. So evidently that was something the company did voluntarily and was not part of the contract. Obviously lawyers go over these things to a heavy degree, so they must have found some legal wiggle room to get out of that contribution.

Unfortunately, if they are looking to cut costs like that, that may not bode well for the end of this contract.
