Hi - I am seeking information on how one can gain access to load-board / broker sites (DAT, CH Robinson, XPO, etc.) without a DOT number. The purpose of this access will be to research rates so that I can make an informed decision as to whether I should buy a truck and switch from a company driver to OO. I am aware that DAT has a demo, unfortunately, this provides limited access and I need more information on rates before moving forward.

Note: I am not interested in doing a lease purchase program or driving for one broker - I am prepared to buy a truck and get own authority.

    Thank you in advance!

Just go watch a few videos on YouTube. Some people like to get on there and brag about their earnings like just trucking

Thank you for the reply…. I’m more of an independent researcher in that I want to see some numbers actually being paid by shippers/brokers. I’m happy to utilize YouTube when I’m repairing my car or making a recipe, however, not to gain insight for making business decision.

    Thanks again for the reply.

Loadboards are a complete waste of time if you look at THEIR rates. They are favored towards brokers with low "lanes" they get these low rates from the crooks in the factoring business.

A general rule of thumb is most freight pays per mile about the cost of diesel. Right now $3.50-$4.00.
Areas that trap truck driver's where they can only travel 1 direction will pay very very very low rates, $1-$2 per mile.
    Florida, going up
    New England, going down
    California, going East.
    Texas, going North.
    Thank brokers for this monopoly

    God prefers Diesels Thanks this.

It should be enough to make a decision. The data is from accounting and pretty accurate. I think that is actually better then just research the board. Most loads on the board posted without rate and a lot with the rate missing details that make it not relevant for any decisions.
