Hi - I am seeking information on how one can gain access to load-board / broker sites (DAT, CH Robinson, XPO, etc.) without a DOT number. The purpose of this access will be to research rates so that I can make an informed decision as to whether I should buy a truck and switch from a company driver to OO. I am aware that DAT has a demo, unfortunately, this provides limited access and I need more information on rates before moving forward.
Note: I am not interested in doing a lease purchase program or driving for one broker - I am prepared to buy a truck and get own authority.
Thank you in advance!

A general rule of thumb is most freight pays per mile about the cost of diesel. Right now $3.50-$4.00.
Areas that trap truck driver's where they can only travel 1 direction will pay very very very low rates, $1-$2 per mile.
Florida, going up
New England, going down
California, going East.
Texas, going North.
Thank brokers for this monopolyGod prefers Diesels Thanks this. -

It should be enough to make a decision. The data is from accounting and pretty accurate. I think that is actually better then just research the board. Most loads on the board posted without rate and a lot with the rate missing details that make it not relevant for any decisions. -
