do not go with covenant, i worked for them gor 1 year as a driver wasnt running but 1500- 1700 miles per week, went to be a trainer and started getting 1500 miles per week, almost lost everything. Then gave myself a hernia picking up a tire to strap on the catwalk and covenant didnt want to cover it but after TALKING with them they did. my advice to u is stay away from them. go somewhere else, I have been driving for 17 yrs been with a few companies and covenant is by far the worst.

chicago,Il Is were I'm now we are waiting on a broker load to load than running to OK. Then to riverside CA. Got my 2nd check its was for little over $700.00. not a killer pay check my some of pros out there but not bad for 4 days of running.

Its going good right now with the trainer. Hes been pretty cool. I delivered my first load with him asleep all the way. about a 300 mile run from IL to WI. It was a target load. Bumped the dock, unloaded. Did all the paper work before he woke up.

He had to confirm the next load. Just not going that far. Its up to him to do that. He woke up and said where are we. I said we are done. Really we are in WI at target. Yes!! He said you need to back up. I replied done. He started looking out the windows at the mirror. What you hit? I said the dock. I said we are unloaded and ready for you to comfirm the next load.

The next load where. I read the info to him. He said you can handle that call me when we get there. He laid now I starded heading to the gate. Going back to IL.

I thank ther still sucking me in, Because right now I have no complaints. We all need more money. I hopeing once i get to where all this training stuff is over with. And I'll get paid to driver a truck. The money will be worth it. Not only that hope i still get these miles.

I still got at least 2 more weeks lefted on the trainers truck. Than the 6 months of teaming to do. Than I still hoping to go solo. But i do see afew solo sitting. Waiting on loads.

i drive for covenant have for one and a half years i get around 5,600 to 6,400 miles a week no complaints like any big company with 1500 or more drivers you will afew crying about no miles and not treated well those are the drivers that pick up loads late and deliver late sit around truck stops instead of rollin that cry about 500 mile runs ect my time at covenant has been good pay could be alittle better but it pays the bills and supports my wife and two kids

Once in a while I meet Cov. drivers who are doing well in the co., who have been working there for 5, 7, 11 years and don't plan on leaving.

Since when I started at Cov. have been running well. Every time there was some discrepancy in my payroll, would contact my payroll lady and got problems solved.

A few times, someone(s) made some mistake(s) and I was paid more miles than I really ran :biggrin_2559:

Always got all my bonuses, holiday pays, and pays that don't even know what they are....

However, if I were not in the Wal-Mart dedicated division, I would probably have left Cov. a long time ago.

My dispatcher couldn't be better, the load planner is very good. No complains there.

My complains about this co. are: low pay per mile, idle policy, mandatory per diem, Wal-Mart store loads from time to time (hate those), not having permission from co. to use truck for my personal things during my 34 hr reset (but I do it anyway), having to log real now that DOT can check our GPS records when they audit our logs... having a truck now governed at 64 mph...

Soon Cov. will start using eletronic logs and that will be the end of Cov. for me. Hopefully, my next place will be much better.

OK! up date on covenant! I got stuck for a while at home after training was over for three weeks.

The first week I had some miss info. I thought they was going to call me with a list of team drivers. NOPE.

After spending time on the phone for a 3rd day. I found out I need to call covenant to get partner. "to be put on the list as they put it.

With no team partner. they gave me a bus ticket to go to Chattanooga,TN. To go to the team meetings. I missed the first team meeting. Because of a new shuttle driver. The next day they wanted a dot drug test. No problem.

After that i went to the first team meeting. Got someone that was going to be a temp. He and his wife are teaming together. It sound like she was going to have a baby. Hey. But it was only for 30 days and he was going home. I passed

The next guy was real close to my home. 56 miles away. This is what i was looking for. We talked seem nice. seem clean older guy 45 so none of that young stuff to go threw. ( I thought I met a 23 year old and good head starting family, seemed older them he was. But lived to for away for covenant) So i told this guy something i was looking for in a team partner and not wanting. He said fine and told me somethings he was looking for. So we team up. Hang out for a day or two waiting on a load. Not bad at all.

We get on the road. And I start seeing thing's i do not like. It not bad its more like OH BOY. The paper work has to be done this way ( his way). Pre done trip packs. Write down on the trip sheet before we leave and fuel stops down on the trip sheets as they happen. OK! I can do this. I just used to do all mine at the end of the trip. While waiting on new load. But I can change right.

He started sitting up fount telling me where to go. I don't need this kind of help. He needs to be sleeping. He tells me I don't need to tell him what to do .OH BOY!!

When I driving and he in the passenger seat. As being a team and all it seems like he would help. NO! only nag! I asked him one time to check the beeping QC to see what it said. He said NO it not my shift.

One time I was unhooking a trailer and he pulled the trailer brakes letting air out of the hose. I hook it back up and open the door and say hey can you push the red button. He like NO its not my shift. I say OK I'll push the button don't worry about it I got it. Gee whizz right.

He got out one time to (it seem like ) to help. But instead he started telling me what to do. I had enough. If he told me to unhook the air hose i would do something else. I told him I don't need this kind of help. But you can help. Man or baby.

He has missed up enough times that he has no room to tell me are ant one what to do. I not trying to tell him what to. But I have not made any big miss takes. I forgot a fuel recite one time. But got it at the next pilot.

Now his miss take or like this. Pass fuel stops and almost run the truck out of fuel. Wakes me up to find a fuel stop to fix the problem.

He woke me up lost in a neighborhood and can't get out.

All most clipped a telephone pole if I didn't stop him.

Picked up hazmat drove 200 miles before i found out he didn't call the safety dept. for instruction and hazmat number. Its mandatory at covenant. I had to do it for him.

On security loads there is lot of stuff you have to do. Call be fore you get there . they give you institution to follow to the T. Stuff like not stopping X number of miles. send a mac 34 every time you stop for any reason. someone has to be with the load at all times. This does not apply to him. He doesn't do it.

Covenant has a mandatory no stopping on the side of the road. If you get hit. you are fired! Even if its there fault.

Man!!! Why is he a control freak. Its trucking you Pu and drop off. That's all. Push some buttons. stay Rollin.

Now on home time because he had to go to court(I dont know why). Be home going on the third day. With know idea whats going on.

See he was only going to take one day off. And now I sit. I cant call him he wouldn't let me have his phone number( I don't know why). So I call or dispatcher. To see whats up.

He told me he not sure. He saids I have his number want to call it. I said yes. He dailed the number from there and it was a wrong number. He said that was not good. And said to call back and he find a number to call.

I called back and he dail a number. Had to leave a message he wasn't there. They said he was out taking care of presonal buss. " Good answer". I lefted a message for him to call. now its been 12 hours. No call back.

I'll have to wait untill tomorrow to call dispatch back. He wanted to know if I got in touich with him. I waiting to see if he returned the phone call. I losted track of time when we went over to my dads. I don't want to talk to night dispatch about this matter.

As for covenant. So for don't bad. cheap when it comes to pay but don't bad. A few bumps in the road. Mostly it been the trainer problem and co driver that gave me problems. Not covenant. pretty much do as they say.

I do wish thangs go by faster. To get this 6 months teaming over with. Start getting pay good or a job that pays after 6 months
